Mitchell, I didn't even notice the tie when watching the debate, but the editorial cartoonists of America clearly did. They're having a field day over it.
As usual, he makes an ass of himself. It's so evident he is very rattled and intimidated by bright and intelligent women. He himself admits that Hillary Clinton was highly intelligent and a great speaker to the point he almost didn't debate with her.
Hello Kirk, Although very concerned about the election, being back in Taiwan has removed me from constant and intense daily exposure to politics, a great relief. All these debates are a joke to begin with. In recent years at least, we know in advance there will be no fruitful discussions or exchanges of ideas, just rudeness and idiocy. --Jim
In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
That's a great caricature of him.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, Ann Talnaes is a topnotch Pulitzer-winning editorial cartoonist in a field usually dominated by men.
DeleteAnn Telnaes got it right. I wish he’d trip on that tie and fall on his face for good.

DeleteHahahahaha, that picture is worth a thousand words alright!
ReplyDeleteIt's why I didn't bother with a thousand-word essay, Debra.
DeleteI haven't been following the politics over here or over there, so no clue what is happeneing!
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon says it all, Ananka.
DeleteHe's got a line of BS for every situation.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's ALL he's got, Mike.
DeleteNo comments. Lets wait for the election result
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to comment if you don't want to, Melody, but others can.

ReplyDeleteGood point, Maddie. Lest we forget, Hillary DID win the popular vote in 2016.

I agree, Jim. Not just the debates, but the elections themselves end up being personality contests. Meanwhile, policy falls by the wayside.
