Quips and Quotations

You don't write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say.

  3. @Standing--Oh, I don't know, Standing, I like those quirky little poems that occasionally pop up on your blog.

@Dreamfarm--It's the reason we all wanted to write in the first place.

  4. Love the Fitzgerald quote. I find that those of us who are driven to write have an even bigger need to say it that to get anything in reply. We just need to deliver the goods. If someone laughs or claps, OK, so much the better. But it doesn't outshine the need to say.

Love that fourth comment there, Kirk.

  5. Well, that 4th comment has been sent back on a slow boat to China.

As for what you were saying, Les, whenever I find myself getting too obsessed over someone not commenting, I repeat the following mantra:

"Nobody is paying me to do this blog...Nobody is paying me to do this blog..."

  6. We do it because we must. I understand you and I understand that. However, I've written many times about this: you write your post and you're well satisfied with it. Not overly egotistic. Just satisfied. "Nice piece of writing, Self." And nobody says a word. That's why I try to give encouragement every time I can to all the bloggers I follow.

WV - pingh. The name of the slow boat back to China.

In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
