To be moved, to be moved constantly by your own songs. You need it to be in tune with them, and I don’t mean in tune musically, but I mean in tune with the lyrics of the songs, with the words of the songs, and with the meaning. Hello Kirk, It's too bad we lost another great artist. It's hard to know whether she died for old age, or just didn't have the heart to go on.

Jim, her age surprised me a bit, only because I've been conditioned to expect pop stars to be still in their 20s at the time of their first hits. She would have been around 34 when she first hit it big.

DeleteShe has such a beautiful voice. Great choice on those two songs to post. Killing Me Softly, lyrics are so hauntingly wonderful. It makes me think of one summer when my parents would play tennis into the late evening on a Friday night with their friends and I would fall asleep in the back seat on the way home. For whatever reason, that song seemed to be on the radio on those Friday summer nights.
