  1. Thanks Kirk. I needed the laugh just then.

  2. Oh, dear. I don't want to be prosecuted, banished or shot. Maybe I should simply not attempt anything for a little minute.

  3. OK, Tag and Limes, the Author is not me. I think it would be kind of egotistical to go around quoting yourself. There's various clues in both the title of the post, and the keywords underneath. Even if you don't recognize the quote, I'm sure you were forced to read the book from which it originates in school (and it was the best damn thing they EVER forced me to read in school.)

Even though the work in question arguably has all three of those elements that are supposedly not there, the Author didn't want you to immediately to go searching for them. I think the Author wanted the reader to leave all preconceptions behind. That's what the best books, plays, and movies ask us to do.

  4. I wrote "keywords down below". I meant to say labels.

  5. Oh, I'm going to do poorly at this. It's a hideous day at work and I'm just generally poor at such things anyway.

Immediate gut reaction yesterday to Hannibal, MO, was "Twain".

  6. Ha! Me? I can't believe . . . I need to go Google something.

  7. Ha! Huckleberry Finn! I have a pretty good gut. Or maybe just a love for travel. It was Hannibal that did it for me.

  8. In the original post I actually called it St. Petersburg Edition. That was the name of a fictional town in both Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn based on Twain's boyhood home. I changed to Hannibal because somebody might have thought i was talking about Russia.

  9. Well, it clicked with me! Note to self: trust your gut more frequently.

In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
