Hello Kirk, We lost another good one, and they seem to be getting rarer and rarer. It came as a surprise to me that Frank was that old. It doesn't seem that long since he was out there politically active in Congress, but even his living presence counted for a lot. --Jim
Frank left office in 2013, Jim. He continued to be regular presence on news-related talk show, which is why may seem like he never left the scene. I too was surprised at how old he was.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....Well, I don't think Frank depended solely on that community for votes. He convinced enough straights that he was their mind 16 times out, Andrew.
In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
This really made me smile. Now that’s being an outsider at every level - and I bet he was a fascinating man.
ReplyDeleteFrank fought (in my opinion) the good fight throughout the 1980s, '90s, and 2000s, David.

ReplyDeleteAn American politician, Ananka. One of the better ones.

DeleteThat should be "he was their man", not mind.
DeleteI sometimes think I'm out of my mind when I make mistakes like that.
Altough I never met him he was my congressman and I had the pleasure of voting for him over several elections
ReplyDeleteI envy your vote, Ruby.
DeleteMay he RIP.
