Officially, I'm in the wind for the rest of the month, but I watched the SOTU last night and wanted to report for duty and add my two cents.
I too feel better after seeing and hearing Biden, with fire in his belly, emphatically getting some good points across, resulting in numerous standing ovations and, at one point, cries of "four more years." It was almost humorous seeing Speaker Johnson behind the president making faces and shaking his head negatively throughout the speech and the emotionless SCOTUS members looking like they were carved out of stone on Mount Rushmore.
It also helps that the Republican response delivered by "GOP Barbie" - Katie Britt - is being widely mocked and ridiculed, even by members of her own party, who call it creepy, an overwrought acting performance, as if she were (unsuccessfully) auditioning for the lead in the school play.
I agree that we have a long way to go until November when, yet again, everything will be at stake, everything on the line, the most important election in U.S. history. Maybe, if we're lucky, in the interim, Trump will shoot someone on 5th Avenue. No wait, I forgot. Even if he were to do that, he would not lose an iota of support from his faithful flock. His approval rating would only rise.
Take care and have a safe and happy month, good buddy Kirk!
In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
I dread what’s coming.
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be ugly, Mitchell.
DeleteHERE HERE!!!! I did however want to slap the shit out of a very smug Mike Johnson sitting there shaking his head every two seconds.
ReplyDeleteMiserable elf.
Political theatre of the absurd, Maddie.
DeleteHi, Kirk!

A school play, or with that backdrop, a daytime commercial for dishwashing liquid.
DeleteYou have a happy month too, Shady.
Hope for the best!
ReplyDeleteThat's all I can do, Debra.
DeleteWell, vote, too.
The closer November gets the more the stress level goes up.
ReplyDeleteMike, I may need tranquilizers as well as an inhaler.
