Actor Harvey Keitel was born on this day in 1939. In the first of two clips I want to show you, he talks about the assist he gave to...
...a young video store clerk looking to break into the movie business:
Keitel looks, sounds, and dresses too much like one of the Mafia types he's played so often for me to even think of raiding his refrigerator.
A touching scene from Reservoir Dogs:
Tarantino must have seen the better side of Keitel's nature. After all, he got in and out of that refrigerator in one piece!
Hi, Kirk!
ReplyDeleteTurns out Harvey Keitel is one month younger than my big brother. I have always admired Harvey's acting. No one plays a heavy better than he, and I wouldn't want to cross him in real life either. :) I enjoyed his story about meeting the young, starving director/writer/actor Quentin Tarantino. Two of my favorites appear in that scene from Reservoir Dogs. I loved Steve Buscemi in Fargo, Trees Lounge and Ghost World.
Nice tribute, Kirk!
I like Buscemi, too, Shady.
DeleteI always enjoy his performances in a movie.
ReplyDeleteHe's one of the greats, Debra.
DeleteI'm a bit shocked he hasn't been in one of his movies in quite some time.
ReplyDeleteAdam, maybe Martin Scorsese has him all booked up.
