Insecticide

Mansfield Advertiser, Mansfield, Penn., June 24, 1914:

Have yet have to find out why they wanted flies at a pharmacy....

...but I bet this would have been worth a whole lot of nickels.

  1. Hi, Kirk!

The times they are a changin', good buddy. No more black and white Shady Del Knight avatar. From now on I will be coming to you in livid... uh... I mean, living color. (My pappy always told me I'm yella.)

I am grateful for this post. I've been toying with ideas for my new eBay store and, by golly, selling dead flies will Shirley make my business take off. In my youth I was known as The King of Swat. (I also played baseball now and again.) I'm a purist and still prefer the 1958 version of The Fly starring Vincent Price, even though the 1986 remake with Jeff Goldblum is highly praised and won an Academy Award for best make-up FX.

This post is buzzworthy, good buddy Kirk. I'm going to tell my ants about it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. Shady, you now look like an Andy Warhol silk screen.

I was thinking of putting a picture of Jeff Goldblum's Fly, but in the picture I found online, while he certainly looked different, he didn't remind me all that much of a fly. He looked more like Edward Scissorshands, as a matter of fact.
