  1. First thing that comes to mind is how good-looking he was.

"Quote machine" is what some online articles said.

“If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, wouldn't it be a Merry Christmas?” Don Meredith

  2. I wish I had been aware of that quote, Kass, I might have used it instead.

  3. I'm not a big football fan, but my brother was a Cowboy fan and we lived in Texas for a while when I was a kid, so I actually do remember his name anyway.

When I heard that Elizabeth Edwards died yesterday, I (nearly immediately) thought, Kirk will have her as his blog post. Maybe she didn't have any great quotes? Not for lack of material. Gotta admire her classiness. (I guess I needed to comment about her regardless of your post!)

  4. @Dreamfarm--Didn't mean to slight Elisabeth Edwards. A friend of mine took over the blog and I couldn't get him off. I'll look for an Edwards quote.

  5. @Dreamfarn 2--Incidentally, I decided to memoralize Meredith because I always found him a hoot on Monday Night Football. As far as his playing career is concerned, even though I knew he was a former pro, I confess I didn't know what team he played for or his position until I read his obituary.

  7. @Dreamfarm 4--Not necessarily a quote about Edwards.

In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
