Quips and Quotations

  1. Remember? At our age? Soothingly? What was it you were talking about?

WV - dactomel, a sedative for the elderly; it helps them to *not* remember things that would otherwise be an unwelcome headache.

  4. I'm a sucker for other people's wonderful and profound quotes too Kirk, but I don't try to remember them. I write them down and store them on my computer. And then produce them for others at will.

  5. @Badger--You reminded me of a Preston Sturges quote that I'm going to use the next time I do one of these (if I remember).

@standing--No shortage of good Parker quotes. The woman could be funny about anything. Even her own suicide attempts.

@Kass--Not even if she with the professor?

  6. @Elisabeth--Dorothy Parker died of natural causes(!) in 1967. Back in those days, the average computer filled a gymnasium.

  7. @Kass--That should be, not even if she SLEPT with the professor.

The whore's not the only one not thinking these days. Badger, where's that dactomel?

In order to keep the hucksters, humbugs, scoundrels, psychos, morons, and last but not least, artificial intelligentsia at bay, I have decided to turn on comment moderation. On the plus side, I've gotten rid of the word verification.
